Item Year Information

YEAR INFORMATION
1991 Rallying is organised to test car and driver to their limits. High speed ‘stages’ are run on private land (for public safety) over rough and mud-strewn tracks, the winner being the car over all stages combined. In between, there will be a controlled speed drive on public roads to the beginning of the next 'stage' where the process is repeated. The Scalextric cars depicted are typical of those that take part in rallying which has contributed greatly to the reliability and safety of vehicles of all types.
1992 Rally cars tend to come in all shapes and sizes. Some are sponsored by large consortiums with professional drivers, others are private entries whose sponsorship relies heavily on the drivers local business acquaintances.
There are various types of rallies which are raced in all parts of the world. Some are raced over rough terrain, others on normal tarmac roads. Many of the lessons learned during these gruelling drives are later incorporated into the normal standard family saloon giving greater safety and reliability to the driving public at large.
The Scalextric Rally Cars shown are typical of the cars seen competing in all ports of the world.
1993 Rallying, the term used for cars in competition with each other on and off public roads. This is how most dictionaries define rallying. It is a time when cars are put through the most gruelling of treatment and a time when only the fittest survive.
Due to the inherent durability of the Scalextric Rally Cars a breakdown mid race is something that rarely happens. Given this comfort the Scalextrlc driver can fully concentrate on racing and beating the opposition to the finishing line.
The Scalextric Rally car models are based on those vehicles that can be seen racing in many parts of the world. From a Ferrari to an Escort they are all hoping to be number one just like Scalextric.
