The name of McLaren makes a welcome return to the world of Scalextric with the introduction of this brand new set. The McLaren MP4/10 created quite a stir when it first appeared. With the revolutionary mid-wing configuration the potential of it developing into a winning car was self-evident. The mid-wing, designed to give maximum down force on specific circuits, gives the Scalextric model quite a determined appearance and cuts a rare dash as it squares up to the Williams FW15C.
How splendid they both look with their tyres printed with the maker's name and their distinctive liveries, as different from each other as their body profiles.
Both cars are fitted with Magnatraction and because of their ground hugging characteristics are quite capable of negotiating the large figure eight circuit, which includes a sweeping flyover section, at speeds in keeping with their full size counterparts. To achieve these speeds however, track supports and crash barriers must be positioned correctly so that both cars race at their best.
